Big news to report today. Artie and Syd are getting hitched. I guess the sly old dog proposed while they were in Zihuatanejo at the Firefly Sanctuary, and Syd said yes, but they kept it under wraps until she could come back and talk to her kids. Everybody’s on board, so it’s a go for August in Mexico. They’re thinking about a honeymoon in Tokyo so they can go straight to the sumo tournament with Konishiki. This isn’t the first time around for either one of them, so they’re excited but a little lower-key about it. Artie’s a little nervous actually. When he gets nervous, he draws, so there were quite a few submissions on the wedding vow theme that came out of it. The focus groups liked this one, and the Committee thought it was the only one with Hallmark potential. The others were a little too Artie, if you know what I mean. But Syd cried when she saw them, in a good way, so he’s going to frame a couple of the originals & give them to her as an early wedding gift. Inky’s back from jury duty & we’re taking Artie out for drinks tonight, so I’ll get all the details. -Ed.
