#166: Unconditional Love (Extended Caption)

There have been a number of requests to see the full text of the alternative, long rambling paragraph caption for No. 166, “Unconditional Love*”. So here it is. It’s obviously hard to see, which is part of the problem, so pasted here as well: # “Bob’s divorce was finalized that morning and he spent a long, distracted day at work reflecting on his not-insignificant contributions to the failed marriage. Rex sat alone in his cage, for eight lonely hours, wondering what he needed to do to regain Bob’s trust after a series of accidents on the foyer rug had cost him his freedom to roam the condo while Bob was away. That evening, Bob picked up a rotisserie chicken at Whole Foods on the way home, and before he sat down in the kitchen to eat alone, he enjoyed a moment with his best friend, content that Rex’s love was unconditional, and had nothing to do with the mouthwatering smell of the roasted chicken which hung heavy in the air.” # So there you go. I moved my alone time to Sundays. Slothrop’s not here. But I’ll say this for the guy, he’s driven. And he’s probably right about the algorithm. The shorter caption is usually better.
