It wasn’t that Bron had been late again that angered Susan. Or his passing comment about how she overshares with her mother, which she let go at the time, but had been bugging her ever since. Or even the way that, whenever he got really into something, like say spelunking, he just expected her to drop whatever she was doing and be up for it. It was more that he just didn’t seem to think at all about how his actions affected her. It was that aloofness about their whole relationship that drove her crazy. It was all the little things. All the little things add up, don’t they? So maybe this was it. Maybe this was just the end for them.
