#195: "No Dogs"
Arthur Trope Presents: The Inscrutables

“No Dogs”
Sunday morning in the office. Dark roast brewing. Van Morrison going on the Pandora app. A little rain on the window. CK2 purring like a kitten. In Artie’s ‘one for me/one for them’ plan, this one falls pretty squarely in the first category. It would’ve never been approved by the Caption Committee, bc they’re allergic to controversy, but Artie points out that, technically, it doesn’t need to go to the Committee bc it has no caption. This seems like a gray area at best, and certainly not in the spirit of the bylaws, but then again, organizational design experiment that resulted in our lack of hierarchy and unclear command-control processes was meant, I think, to empower more assertive decision-making at every level. I’d never really thought about this before, I’d just assumed pretty much all decision-making exceeded my authority. But Artie makes a good point. So I made the decision to run it. Now I think I’ll just sit here & listen to Van & drink my coffee & see how many followers we lose over this one...-Ed.
