“It’s Just Exhausting Being the Alpha”

Good news (for me)! I got promoted yesterday. I am no longer Assistant Social Media Marketing Manager at Picklefish Media. I am now a full-fledged Social Media Manager. It’s not clear who I was assisting before. I don’t have a boss, as far as I can tell. Artie sends in the comics, there is generally a bunch of bickering about the captions. I take notes in the meetings and then go back to my desk to social the media. Here’s #146, boom, just like that. No guidance. No strategic plan. Our HR guy, Nate, asked me to pop into his office as I was playing bullet chess on my phone after lunch. He handed me my promotion letter, shook my hand and said “Well-deserved!” I don’t think anyone here even uses the internet. Just between us, I’m practically running this place. -Ed.
